Biography
Born in Compiègne, France, Jean-Baptiste Mouret has developed a steady career as an Opera singer.
From 2017 to 2022, he was a soloist with the ensemble of the Leipzig Opera, where he interpreted a wide range of roles. In addition to his time in Leipzig, Jean-Baptiste had guest engagements at renowned operas such as the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Lyon Opera, and the Clermont-Ferrand Opera. He collaborated with significant conductors like Ulf Schirmer, Simon Runnicles, Stefano Montanari, Jean-Michaël Lavoie, Andrea de Carlo, Christof Gedschold, Matthias Foremny, Enrico Calesso, Alexandre Myrat, Amaury du Closel, Lionel Friend, and David Reiland.
Furthermore, since 2020, Jean-Baptiste Mouret has been performing as a bass soloist with the Neue Kammer, an ensemble for Baroque and contemporary music in Leipzig. His passion for chamber music led him to found and organize the Festival Rencontres Artistiques de Kerarden, a chamber music festival in Séné from 2017 to 2019. He also created the chamber music ensemble La Jolie Rousse Ensemble, which has given numerous concerts in France and Germany since 2016. Before his time in Leipzig, Jean-Baptiste Mouret was a member of the Opera Studio in Lyon from 2012 to 2013.
Jean-Baptiste Mouret obtained a master's degree in opera from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix-Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, where he was taught by Professor Jeanette Favaro-Reuter. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor's degree in singing with piano as his secondary instrument at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, under the guidance of Professor David Pollard.
