Alone on the stage, a powerful experience

After many years of making music with other musicians, I decided to develop a solo program, accompanying myself on the accordion, a wonderful instrument that has been with me for over 10 years. The union of these two instruments has been a revelation for me, as the breath of one supports the breath of the other. The breath becomes a vibration of the soul and an expression of my most deeply intimate self. With this instrument, I can perform anywhere, needing nothing more than an audience ready to listen.

I built this first program around a group of melodies by Franz Schubert, the quintessential composer with a thirst for freedom. The combination of voice and accordion colors this music in a unique way, thus renewing the Schubertian experience. A suite of pieces by François Couperin, taken from the first and second books of harpsichord pieces, provides a delicate response to romantic poetry, while a final group of jazz standards invites the body to move.

“DOPPELGÄNGER” EP, Four lieder of Franz Schubert for Solo Singing and accordion.

"Doppelgänger" is the first EP of Jean-Baptiste Mouret in a Solo recording for singing and accordion. In this recording of four Franz Schubert Lieder, the unconventional mixing of lyrical singing and accordion offers a new way to listen to Franz Schubert poetic language, as well as a new way to listen to classical singing.
